Competition
Win a Poolside Gossip fine art print by Slim Aarons
Born in Manhattan, New York in 1916, Slim Aarons enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18 and served as a combat photographer during World War II. After the war, he moved to California and started his iconic career where he was known for photographing celebrities, socialites and jetsetters in beautiful locations, notably describing his work as "photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places".
He never used a stylist or make-up artist. They evoke a sense of luxury, exclusivity and glamour that fits on the wall of any home. And with Slim Aarons' status as an iconic, world-renowned photographer, every photography lover needs to own at least one of his pictures.
Poolside Gossip is the most iconic of all Slim Aarons prints featuring actress Lita Baron approaching Nelda Links (right, in yellow) and her friend, Helen Dzo Dzo (left) at Palm Springs on January 22nd 1970, and has ingrained itself into popular culture, becoming an everlasting symbol of style and modernism.
FINEPRINTCO is the exclusive agent for Getty Images Gallery in Australia and New Zealand and therefore the only company with exclusive access to the entire collection of original Slim Aarons negatives held in the archives at Getty Images. All Slim Aarons prints are hand embossed with ‘Getty Images Archives’ and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
